About us

We have been given to understand that some Fijians migrated to Canada even before the 1950s. But the influx was during the 1987 Military Coup when most of them moved to Vancouver and the neighboring cities. Presently according to the Government of Canada, there are about 127,000 members of the Fijian diaspora in Canada of whom around 70,000 are in the Province of British Columbia. The rest have settled in the Provinces of Ontario and Alberta. New Brunswick, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Surprisingly some have also been traced in the Provinces of Nova Scotia and Quebec.
